Biography

Eric is a registered Australian Trade Mark Attorney at Laminar IP. He holds a Master of Intellectual Property from the University of Technology Sydney as well as a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honours) from Monash University.

Prior to joining Laminar IP, Eric worked at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Technology Transfer Office, where he played a key role in supporting UNSW’s commercialisation initiatives. These initiatives included streamlining IP management processes, optimising internal databases, and developing custom reports that provided actionable insights for decision-makers. His work helped bridge the gap between researchers and external patent counsel, ensuring that innovations were strategically protected and positioned for real-world impact.

A qualified Malaysian patent agent since 2017, Eric also worked with IP firms in Malaysia, assisting clients on patent matters across diverse industries, including mobile applications, glove manufacturing, ID authentications systems and consumer products.

Eric is now pursuing registration as an Australian Patent Attorney to further broaden his contribution to the IP field.

Eric is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.
