Laminar IP, a Sydney-based boutique Intellectual Property firm, has officially opened a new office in Bangkok, establishing a direct, on-the-ground presence in Thailand. The Bangkok office will be headed by Partners Wanchai Raksirivorakul and Sukhprem Sachadecha, who will lead the firm’s patent, trade mark and design practice in the country.

A Direct Presence in Thailand
The Bangkok office gives Laminar IP a direct presence in the Thai market, with qualified Thai practitioners handling Thai patent, trade mark, design matters in-country. Clients and associate firms instructing the firm on Thai matters will work directly with local attorneys based in Bangkok, rather than through intermediaries – improving turnaround times, local responsiveness and continuity of advice.
The Bangkok team will deliver Thai IP services on a cost-effective basis, reflecting local cost structures and removing the layers of agency mark-ups that often apply when Thai work is routed through firms based outside the country. For multinational rights holders and overseas associate firms, this provides a more efficient pathway for managing Thai portfolios at scale, while maintaining the technical depth and service standards Laminar IP is known for.
